Responsibilities

POSITION SUMMARY:

We are looking for a Principal Infrastructure Engineer (Partner Delivery) in Mumbai for a  hybrid role.

This role requires hands-on, customer-facing delivery expertise in Azure Stack HCI / Azure Local, with strong depth across compute, storage, networking, Azure Arc, and hybrid operations. The engineer must be capable of designing, deploying, operating, and troubleshooting Azure Local environments at scale for enterprise customers.

 

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

  • Design, deploy, and manage Azure Stack HCI / Azure Local solutions, including full lifecycle (implementation, upgrades, expansion, and decommissioning).
  • Architect and maintain hybrid cloud environments leveraging Azure Arc, ensuring seamless integration with Azure services and governance models.
  • Configure and optimize Hyper-V virtualization, supporting high availability, performance tuning, and Windows/Linux workloads.
  • Implement and manage storage solutions (S2D), including capacity planning, performance optimization, and disaster recovery using Storage Replica.
  • Design and troubleshoot advanced networking configurations, including RDMA, SMB Direct, VLANs, and host networking.
  • Deploy and manage AKS on Azure Stack HCI and support containerized workloads and modern application platforms.
  • Implement monitoring and observability solutions using Azure Monitor and Log Analytics to ensure system health and performance.
  • Enforce security and compliance standards, including hardened configurations, identity integration (AD/Entra ID), and Defender for Cloud.
  • Automate deployments and operations using PowerShell and infrastructure automation practices, ensuring repeatable and scalable delivery.
  • Provide advanced L2/L3 troubleshooting and escalation support across compute, storage, and network layers, driving issues to resolution.
  • Collaborate with customers and stakeholders to deliver high-quality partner engagements, including documentation, knowledge transfer, and ongoing support.

 

 

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 8+ years in customer-facing roles across systems architecture, administration, operations, and cloud/on-prem consulting with strong troubleshooting expertise.
  • Hands-on experience with Azure Stack HCI / Azure Local (21H2–23H2+), delivering end-to-end implementations in production environments.
  • Deep expertise in Hyper-V virtualization, including Windows/Linux workloads and GPU enablement.
  • Strong knowledge of Storage Spaces Direct (S2D), performance tuning, capacity planning, and disaster recovery (Storage Replica).
  • Advanced understanding of networking (RDMA, SMB Direct, VLANs, SET) and hybrid connectivity design.
  • Experience with Azure Arc integration, including Resource Bridge, VM management, extensions, governance (RBAC), and Azure Policy.
  • Proficiency in monitoring and operations using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and proactive observability practices.
  • Strong foundation in security and identity, including Secure Boot, BitLocker, Shielded VMs, Active Directory, and Microsoft Entra ID.
  • Experience with AKS on Azure Stack HCI, container workloads, and GitOps-based management (plus).
  • Strong PowerShell automation skills; familiarity with IaC/CI-CD and standardized deployment patterns.
  • Experience working with OEM hardware (Dell, HPE, Lenovo, Cisco) and partner/MSP delivery models.
