Responsibilities

POSITION SUMMARY:

We are looking for a skilled Developer with strong expertise in Power BI and Azure DevOps (ADO) to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining business intelligence solutions, as well as supporting project management and development processes using ADO.

 

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

 

  • Develop, maintain, and enhance Power BI dashboards and reports that extract and visualize data from ActiveX Data Objects (ADO) data sources.
  • Build and maintain robust data connections between Power BI and legacy systems using ADO, ensuring efficient and secure data access.
  • Design and implement ETL processes to import, transform, and clean data for reporting and analytics.
  • Collaborate with business analysts, project managers, and technical teams to understand reporting requirements and translate them into actionable insights.
  • Optimize data retrieval and query performance through ADO and Power BI modeling best practices.
  • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity across all BI reports and underlying databases.
  • Automate repetitive reporting tasks and maintain scheduled data refreshes within Power BI Service or on-prem environments.
  • Support data governance by adhering to Microsoft standards and implementing proper documentation and version control of BI assets.
  • Troubleshoot connection, performance, or data inconsistency issues between Power BI and ADO data sources.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 3–6 years of experience in Power BI development with strong knowledge of ActiveX Data Objects (ADO) for data access.
  • Proficiency in DAX, Power Query (M), and Data Modeling within Power BI.
  • Experience working with ADO-based data connections (e.g., connecting to SQL Server, Access, or legacy COM-based data layers).
  • Strong understanding of SQL queries, relational databases, and connection string management.
  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple BI deliverables and meet deadlines effectively.
  • Experience working in Microsoft technology environments or with enterprise clients is a strong plus.

  • A competitive pay range of $42/hr - $46/hr on W2 (depending on experience.).
  • 15 days per year of Paid Time Off (PTO).
