POSITION SUMMARY:
We are seeking a skilled Security Engineer ((Defender/Purview) with expertise in Microsoft Defender, Microsoft Purview, and related security solutions. This role will focus on implementing and managing advanced security technologies, including XDR, data governance, and SIEM solutions, to strengthen enterprise security posture. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on technical experience combined with the ability to collaborate across teams and deliver secure, scalable solutions for our clients in Japan.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
Design, implement, and manage XDR solutions (Microsoft Defender XDR, Defender for Endpoint, Defender for Cloud Apps, Defender for Cloud, or equivalent).
Lead deployment and management of data governance solutions (Microsoft Purview or equivalent).
Configure and manage SIEM solutions (Microsoft Sentinel or equivalent).
Collaborate with SOC and CSIRT teams to support incident response, security monitoring, and governance.
Provide technical expertise and recommendations to improve security posture across cloud and on-premises environments.
Work with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, implement solutions, and ensure compliance with best practices.
Deliver technical presentations, documentation, and support for stakeholders.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with:
XDR solutions (Microsoft Defender or equivalent competitor products).
Data governance solutions (Microsoft Purview or equivalent).
SIEM solutions (Microsoft Sentinel or equivalent).
Basic knowledge of security operations concepts (SOC, CSIRT).
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
Minimum 5 years of experience in security engineering or a related field.
Native or fluent Japanese (read, write, speak, listen).
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
