Responsibilities

POSITION SUMMARY:

This is an On-site 6-month contract with the possibility of extension and becoming FTEWe are seeking a talented Software Engineer to help build innovative solutions that enable our business to perform at scale with maximum efficiency and zero defects. We are developing cutting-edge platforms to automate manual processes and handle increasingly complex payroll operations. 

We are creating a unique platform that combines File Share, Data Lake, and Data Processing Engine technologies, incorporating features such as anomaly detection, self-service onboarding, and region-specific GDPR compliance. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work with a variety of Open Source and AWS technologies to solve complex challenges in payroll processing at a massive scale. 

 

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

  • Design and implement highly scalable, efficient, and reliable software solutions for payroll processing
  • Contribute to the architecture and design of new and existing systems, focusing on scalability, reliability, and performance
  • Develop solutions to handle massive data volumes and complex business rules
  • Implement and optimize data processing algorithms and anomaly detection systems
  • Ensure GDPR compliance and data security across multiple regions
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate payroll solutions with other Amazon systems
  • Participate in code reviews, maintain coding standards, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent
  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • 2+ years of experience in contributing to the architecture and design of new and current systems
  • Strong programming skills in at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C#
  • Experience with object-oriented design and software design patterns
  • Familiarity with full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
  • Occasional infrequent in person activity may be required

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 5+ years of professional software development experience
  • Experience with AWS services and cloud-based architecture
  • Knowledge of data processing technologies and big data platforms
  • Familiarity with payroll systems and related regulatory requirements
  • Experience with agile development methodologies
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
