Responsibilities

POSITION SUMMARY:                                                                                                                                                         

Beyondsoft is seeking a Sr. Hardware Technician Lead to work on-site in Boise, ID. This position is part of a team focused on investigating top identified parts issues from the field. The hardware technician will install, test, and analyze parts to reproduce customer field issues. These issues will then be given priority and cost savings. The hardware repro team assists in this analysis by initially processing parts returned, reproducing customer complaints and building failure analysis breakdown summary for priority focus. Issues are more hardware intensive but firmware interaction and hardware timing with firmware is still considered. In addition to reproduction of hardware issues, there is a secondary function of troubleshooting steps and parts prediction for event codes, including testing, fault intrusion and reporting of differences.

 

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

  • Utilize information, duration and exploratory methods to reproduce original customer complaint and if possible specific failing mechanism.
  • Ad hoc reporting support and analysis, as needed.
  • Assist in analyzing initial warranty group data and relevant feedback in reproducibility of future hardware returns.
  • Track down customer information or relevant data for return parts leading to root cause solution.
  • Capture full unit/part return data and build final failure and part reproducibility breakdowns for Product Engineer and Program Managers.
  • Assist in hardware teardowns and identifying specific component failures/captures when requested by CPE engineers.
  • Test hardware countermeasure proposals when applicable.
  • Track all hardware both onsite and offsite for shipping or recall processing
  • Develop tools and systems to organize return data so that priority focus can take shape
  • Diagnose event codes not found in documentation

 

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • LaserJet product knowledge and Printer hardware/configuration background 
  • Hardware testing background  
  • Spreadsheet / data tracking / shipping 
  • Ability to Provide/Update/Create documentation, templates, processes, and reporting 
  • Ability to perform data/case analysis & mining 
  • Effective communication skills 
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional and cross-cultural teams 

 PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Base Scripting / Tools
