Responsibilities

POSITION SUMMARY:
We are currently hiring a Software Automation Test Engineer to support our global, high-tech software client onsite in Austin, Texas.
In this position you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining automated test scripts and frameworks to ensure the quality and reliability of software applications for hardware. This mid-level role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, identifying opportunities for automation, and continuously improving the testing process. This is a full-time, long-term, onsite position with a standard work week where the candidate must be local to the Austin area.

 

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING: 

  • Designing and implementing robust, scalable, and maintainable automation test suites using industry-standard tools and frameworks (e.g., PyElement, Selenium, Cypress, Robot Framework, etc.).
  • Developing and maintaining reusable test automation libraries, utilities, and frameworks to improve testing efficiency and coverage
  • Collaborating with software developers, product managers, and quality assurance teams to understand requirements, identify test scenarios, and prioritize automation efforts.
  • Analyzing and interpreting test results, generate detailed reports, and providing recommendations for improving the software development lifecycle.
  • Automating end-to-end testing, integration testing, regression testing, and other types of testing as required.
  • Continuously optimizing and refining the automation test suites to ensure their effectiveness and efficiency.

 

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 3-5 years of experience in software testing, with a strong focus on test automation is mandatory.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience is required. Additional certifications in software testing, automation, or agile practices (e.g., ISTQB, CSAA, CSM) is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Python is required. Additionally, having proficiency in Java, JavaScript, C# is favorable.
  • Professional, hands-on experience in designing, writing and implementing automated test frameworks and scripts using tools like PyElement (highly preferred), Selenium, Cypress, Robot Framework, or similar is mandatory.
  • Familiarity with Agile/DevOps methodologies and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Understanding of software development lifecycles and software testing best practices is essential.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically about testing challenges are necessary.
  • A willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and methodologies.
  • Excellent business communication and collaboration skills with the ability to relate well and work effectively with customers, cross-functional teams and co-workers is essential

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Additional experience in performance testing, security testing, and other specialized testing domains is a plus.
  • Experience in test automation framework development and maintenance is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based testing platforms and containerization technologies is advantageous.

  • A competitive pay of $28-$30/hr., depending on experience.
